AeroShell Oil W80 is an advanced ashless dispersant oil for aviation piston engines. It uses non-metallic additives and high viscosity index base oils for stability, dispersancy, and anti-foaming. Oil grade selection depends on ambient temperature at startup: SAE 40 (W80), SAE 50 (W100), and SAE 60 (W120). Typically, W80 is for colder regions (-17 to 21°C), W100 for moderate climates (15 to 30°C), and W120 for warmer areas (above 26°C). AeroShell Oils W80, W100, and W120 meet SAE specification J-1899 and hold military qualification approval. They are on the US Navy’s Qualified Products List and the UK Ministry of Defence’s Technically Acceptable Products List. Approved blending facilities ensure top quality.
